How to enable browser and system notifications

Learn how to enable browser and system notifications and ensure Do Not Disturb mode is disabled—especially if you’ve enabled Team chat alerts but aren’t receiving them. Check your settings to get notifications for new messages.

How to enable notifications in the browser

Chrom

1. Open your firm’s TaxDome page.

2. Click the settings icon on the left side of the address bar.

3. Select Site settings.

4. Choose Allow next to Notifications.

Safari

1. In the top-left menu bar, go to Safari > Settings.

2. Open the Websites > Notifications section.

3. Next to your firm’s TaxDome address, click Allow.

Firefox

1. Click the menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.

2. Select Settings.

3. Go to Privacy & Security > Permissions.

4. Click Settings next to Notifications.

5. Find your TaxDome portal link and set its status to Allow.

Microsoft Edge

1. Open your firm’s TaxDome page.

2. Click the lock icon on the left side of the address bar.

3. Click Permissions for this site.

4. Next to Notifications section select Allow from the drop-down menu.

How to enable system notifications

Windows

1. Open Settings > System > Notifications.

2. Turn on the toggle next to Notifications.

3. Turn on the toggle next to your browser.

You can also open your browser’s notification settings page for more detailed adjustments.

macOS

1. Open System Settings.

2. Go to Notifications. Enable all toggles within the Show previews section.

3. In App Notifications section, select your browser.

4. Turn on the toggle next to Allow notifications. Choose the Alerts type. Also, you can adjust other notification settings.

Linux

1. Open Settings > Notifications.

2. Go to App Notifications, find your browser and turn notifications on.

How to turn off the “Do not disturb” mode

Windows

1. Open Settings > System > Notifications.

2. Turn off the toggle next to Do not disturb .

macOS

Option 1

1. Open System Settings > Focus.

2. Turn off the Do Not Disturb mode.

Option 2

1. Open System Settings > Focus.

2. Go to Focus settings.

3. Change settings:

   a) Add your firm’s TaxDome page to the list of sites that can always send notifications.

   b) Adjust the hours during which notifications are allowed.

Linux

1. Open Settings > Notifications.

2. Turn off the toggle next to Do Not Disturb.
