In TaxDome, your clients can complete some actions without logging into the portal. This could be useful when you need to request info from third parties, get documents from leads or make the client's accountant to pay on their behalf. In this article, you'll learn about all client actions without login available in TaxDome. 

View & download documents

You can share any file uploaded to TaxDome with a third-party recipient, such as a mortgage banker or a lawyer. For this, use the Share option and add third-party email addresses as additional recipients. To ensure better security, you can set a link expiration date so that the document is accessible to third parties only for some time. More on sharing docs with third parties.

The receiver will get the email with a link. They will be able to view the document and download it. 

Upload documents via link

If you need to get documents from someone who is not actually your client or they don't use the portal, you can generate a link for them to upload documents without logging in. To do it, you'll need a separate guest client account used solely for storing files uploaded by clients without portal access. You can create a separate folder for each of them so that they are better organized and easier to find later.

Then, you need to request files and generate a link to upload them. Share this link via a preferred communication channel such as email or SMS. More on creating upload links for non-clients.

Once the client clicks the link, they’re taken to a page where they can drag and drop their documents.

Sign documents

If your clients don't use the portal or you need someone to sign documents on their behalf, they can do it via a secure link. To share a link with them, you'll only need to add them as signers using their email address. Additionally, even if your clients use the client portal, you can allow them to sign documents without logging into the portal s o that they don't need to remember any login details if they only want to sign.

The signing link sent to their email address is valid for seven days.

Pay invoices

Each invoice issued on TaxDome has a unique link that you can share with anyone you want. This way, if your clients don't use the portal or you need someone to pay invoices on their behalf, they can do it via a secure link. Share this link via a preferred communication channel such as email or SMS. More on providing payment links

Once opened, the recipient will need to fill in their details and pay.

Submit info via client requests

Client requests are small questionnaires that urgently clarify missing or irrelevant information while working on a job. They could be sent to clients and third parties associated with them (for example, an assistant). To allow access without login, disable the Require sign-in toggle while sending a client request. 

Your client will then receive a link to the request via email and will be able to fill in the data and upload files. You can also share with them a link to a request via any other communication channel. More on sharing requests
