Settings (Advanced): Back Up Your TaxDome Data

Here, we show you how to back up your TaxDome data. As with all things digital, it’s important to always have backup in case you accidentally delete something or find yourself offline.

Export Your Account List

To export all the data from your accounts to a CSV file, go to the Clients section to view All Accounts, then click Export Accounts. This saves all your account data, including your custom CRM fields.

An account list can be exported by a firm owner, admin or any team member with access rights to manage accounts.

Feel free to leave the page—once the export is completed, you’ll receive an email with an attached zipped CSV file.

Tip: To exclude any unnecessary information, filter your account list before exporting it.

Export Your Contact List

To export all the data from your contacts to a CSV file, go to Contacts in the Clients section, then click Export Contacts. This saves all your contact data, including your custom CRM fields.

A contact list can be exported by a firm owner, admin or any team member with access rights to manage contacts.

Use Zapier to Synchronize Your TaxDome Contacts With Your Favorite Apps

Zapier allows you to link your contact information with other software or platforms, such as Outlook, Mailchimp, Google Contacts or Excel.

For example, use Zapier if you want your Google contact spreadsheet to automatically update whenever you add a new contact to TaxDome. For more details on how to synchronize using Zapier, go here.

Export Your Job List

To export your active or archived jobs to a CSV file, go to the Workflow section, open the Jobs tab, then click Export jobs.

The exported CSV file will contain the following info:

  • For active jobs: name, pipeline, stage, account, date it was added and due date.
  • For archived jobs: name, pipeline, stage, account, date it was added and date it was archived.

Feel free to leave the page—once the export is completed, you’ll receive an email with an attached zipped CSV file.

There’s no limit to the number of jobs you can export, so all of those included with any selected filters (or none) will be placed on the CSV file:

A job list can be exported by a firm owner, admin or any team member with access rights to manage pipelines. If a team member doesn’t have access rights, a pop-up message appears letting them know and the Export jobs button remains inactive.

Export Your Task List

Export your pending or completed tasks to a CSV file: Go to Workflow, open the Tasks tab, then click Export tasks.

The exported CSV file will contain the following information:

  • For pending tasks: account name, task name, due date, subtasks, assignees, priority, job name, description, pipeline, stage and tags.
  • For completed tasks: account name, task name, due date, subtasks, assignees, priority, job name, description, pipeline, stage, tags and date completed.

Feel free to leave the page—once the export is completed, you’ll receive an email with an attached zipped CSV file.

A task list can be exported by a firm owner, admin or any team member with access rights to view all accounts. If a team member doesn’t have access rights, a pop-up message appears letting them know, and the Export tasks button remains inactive.

Export Your Documents

If you want your documents to be stored on your computer, copy their folders from TaxDome Drive, then paste them to your local drive.

Export Your Invoice List

To export all invoicing data to a CSV file, go to the Invoices section, then click Export Invoices.

This will save the following information about each invoice: number, client, status, name of team member assigned to client, date posted, date or time paid, amount and description.

Export Your Payment List

To export all your payments to a CSV file, go to the Invoices section, open the Payments tab, then click Export payments.

This saves the following information about each payment: payment ID, date, payment amount, payment source, client name, ID of paid invoice, refund amount, description and time zone.

Export Your Time Entries

To export all data related to time-tracking to a CSV file, go to the Invoices section, open the Time Entries tab, then click on Export time entries.

This saves the following information about each time entry: client name, ID, name of the team member assigned to client, description of project, date and time it was started and completed, total duration, name of team member who added entry and tag added to time.
